Our Associate company Fevered Sleep’s latest show opens in four weeks. For those who follow their works (or ours!), you’d know that Young Vic has only ever presented Fevered Sleep’s family works. Well you are in for a treat – this time, although it is a cast of children, the show is aimed at adults. And that’s what makes it more the interesting.
The concept is based on growing, changing and ageing – and those fleeting moments and memories that mark us throughout our lives.
The cast is working with hundreds of objects – it’s amazing they can remember where everything goes and that so many things can fit on a stage. Rehearsals are looking great. We can’t wait to see the finished work. Georgie, Joe, Laroque, Madeleine, Theo, Tsipora, Vaughn – it’s been a delight to have you around.

Check out some photos taken during/in between rehearsals…
Only 3 more performances of The Beauty Queen of Leenane left. It’s been a brilliant five weeks – all shows have sold out and we’re running low on playtexts! We’ve been collecting loads of great audience reviews that are all uploaded onto a new page of our website. We’re going to keep doing this for all our shows, so don’t forget to send us your thoughts whenever you come see something here. email@example.com
On another note, we’re excited that Beauty Queen’s director (also our Associate Director) Joe Hill-Gibbins will be directing our Christmas production – The Glass Menagerie. Who’s in it, you ask? Watch this space!
And our blog is now alive!
For our 40th Anniversary, we’ve collected 40 facts about the Young Vic that we think are interesting (hope you think so too).
FACT 1: Did you know the Young Vic building used to be a butcher’s shop? Look behind the Young Vic sign above our front doors and you will see remnants of the Wilson Brothers butchers sign.
Managed to dig up a photo of what the sign looked liked before we hung up Young Vic over it!
