We’re delighted to confirm the cast for the revival of Joe Hill-Gibbins’ hit production The Changeling.
Sinead Matthews returns to the Young Vic, following her previous performance in Joe Hill-Gibbins’ production of The Glass Menagerie. Sinead’s recent theatre includes Complicite’s The Master and Margarita (Barbican/tour); Women of Troy, Our Class and The Mandate (National Theatre) and the revival of Mike Leigh’s Ecstasy (Hampstead/West End).
Sinead will take the lead of Beatrice-Joanna in The Changeling.
Harry Hadden-Paton takes the role of Beatrice-Joanna’s love Alsemero for his Young Vic debut. Harry recently starred alongside Sienna Miller in Trevor Nunn’s Flare Path (West End). His recent theatre also includes Jamie Lloyd’s production of She Stoops to Conquer and played Harry Villiers in Posh (Royal Court).
Zubin Varla will play Beatrice-Joanna’s repellent servant De Flores. TV audiences may recall his appearance as Daniel Doyce in BBC One’s Little Dorrit and Channel 4 drama Saddam’s Tribe. Recent theatre includes The Life of Galileo and Cyrano de Bergerac for the National Theatre; Julius Caesar, Midnight’s Children, The Tempest and Romeo and Juliet for the RSC.
Alex Beckett returns to the cast of The Changeling as Lollio / Jasperino.
Howard Ward also returns to the cast as Beatrice-Joanna’s father Vermandero.
Nick Lee will play Antonio / Tomazo, Alex Lowe will play Alibius / Alonzo and Eleanor Matsuura will play Isabella / Diaphanta.
The Changeling is from 20 November – 15 December and has been re-staged for the Main House this winter, revived by director Joe Hill-Gibbins and acclaimed designer Ultz.
