Cut Cart | Story collecting day, 29 Oct

CutCartTP blog image w date

Date: Thursday 29 October

Time: 11.30am-4.30pm

We are looking for personal stories and anecdotes about the streets surrounding The Cut.
Do you know anyone who has memories or stories about The Cut in Waterloo and the local area?

We are gathering stories, memories, musings and meanderings of The Cut in days gone by. No story is too small, no titbit too tiny. Come and visit us at the Young Vic Theatre to see our Cut Cart, share your anecdotes, have a cup of tea and a slice of cake, and be presented with a beautiful postcard in return.

We will create a sharing of these stories in April 2016 which you will be invited to.
Come and be part of it. We would love to see you.

RSVP or send any questions to Lily, Two Boroughs Project Manager, twoboroughs@youngvic.org / 020 7922 2861 or simply drop by.

Benedict Andrews launches his first poetry collection at the Young Vic

Capture
On Friday 13 June, Benedict Andrews will launch his first poetry collection Lens Flare at the Young Vic.

‘Benedict Andrews is one of the original imaginations of Australian theatre. For ten years now he has been applying his complex startling vision to some of our dramatic literature, as well as illuminating new writing, both nationally and internationally. His work is marked by the intense and fragile beauty of its imagery and the sense of deep metaphor lying beneath the narrative surface. In an artform that needs to be both popular and pragmatic, Benedict manages to remain that rare thing: a poet.’
Neil Armfield

Benedict will direct A Streetcar Named Desire here this summer, and was last at the Young Vic with his ‘absurdly good’ (four stars, Evening Standard) Three Sisters in 2012. To find out more about his first poetry collection, click here.

The launch for Lens Flare will take place on Friday 13 June from 5.30pm – 7.30pm in the Clare at the Young Vic. If you’d like to join us, please RSVP to psp@pittstreetpoetry.com.
